Chef Angie K began her craft in a humble bar and grill in New Orleans in 1997. It was in that establishment that she discovered her love for making people's dining experience as flavorful as possible. She then spent the next eight years working in some of the finest restaurants New Orleans has to offer. A quick learner, Angie K was able to study all the great recipes, practices, and traditions that made New Orleans a famous culinary destination. It was during this self directed internship that she decided that she wanted to be able to expand above and beyond her studies, and eventually open a restaurant that utilized the "best of the best" of what she had learned.
In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, Chef Angie K found herself in Holland, Michigan and decided that it was the perfect opportunity to expand her dream and ideal.
She opened her first restaurant in early 2006, and her newest restaurant, Blue House Bistro, in 2010 where she is able to draw upon her vast knowledge of over a decade of food and restaurant experience in New Orleans and truly "focus on the food" in the way that only a chef owned and operated boutique restaurant is capable of doing.
